We are a collection of producers who believe in honest, authentic, environmentally conscious wines that disregard trends and fashions.
After 30 years in the restaurant industry, my wine career had given me access to four of the world’s greatest wine cellars: Tribeca Grill, Veritas, GILT, and my own restaurant Pearl and Ash – all recipients of Wine Spectators’ Grand Award. In 2014 I started Renegat Wines, a collection of wineries who do things without the consideration of trends or fashion.
Our aim at Renegat Wines is to showcase exceptional small producers that are family run, environmentally friendly and in need of someone to tell their story. This endeavor came to us after we began hosting Renegade Wine Dinners in 2013, which highlighted our philosophy of bringing both counter-culture to the wine industry and incredible wines for NYC wine enthusiasts in an über casual environment at low prices. Through that inspiration, I wanted to bring that same philosophy to sommeliers and enthusiasts throughout the US.
Currently, the portfolio consists of distinctive winemakers from France, Germany, Australia and California. By working closely with our family of winemakers we can ensure that the Renegat Wines model benefits the grower, winemaker, distributor, sommelier and consumer. We will continue to grow organically as we discover producers who’s excellence and unique point of view should be shared with the world.
