Valdiguié

The 2015 vintage was one of the earliest we’ve experienced. Troubling weather during flowering restricted yields, concentrating fruit. The warm, sunny August ripened the fruit quickly, while still holding onto Valdiguié’s characteristic acidity. The resultant wine is complete and full, intensely floral and fruity with assertive but rich tannins and palate cleansing acidity.

Fruit was destemmed into an open concrete tank. Fermentation occurred spontaneously with manual punchdowns. After 7 days on skins, the wine was lightly pressed. Malolactic occurred naturally with the wine receiving a light sulfur addition immediately before bottling. Aged in older puncheon.
